A civic association, a neighborhood group or a community preserve is run by neighbors who volunteer. There is no office and no staff. The treasurer changes every two years, the membership list is in someone's inbox, and the annual meeting notice is a stack of stamps.
Members are households rather than individuals. They pay a modest annual due, want a directory of who lives where, and need to hear about the lake closure, the work day and the zoning meeting, ideally by text because email is easy to miss.

Can memberships be per household instead of per person?
Yes. A membership product can cover a household, with one payer and several people on the record, and the directory can show households rather than individuals.
We still get checks. Can we record them?
Yes. Offline payments are recorded on the membership, so a household that pays by check shows as current alongside those who paid online.
Can we send a text to specific streets?
Yes. Any profile field, including address or a tag such as "north shore", can define an audience. A broadcast goes to that audience by SMS, email or both.
Is this affordable for a small association?
The Starter plan is $49 a month with unlimited members. Most associations need nothing more, and there is no contract.
What happens when the board changes?
Admin access is a setting, not a personal account. Add the new treasurer, remove the old one, and every record stays where it was.
